Ecocyber - Risk management for future cyber-physical ecosystems
The cyber-physical ecosystem will open novel services and businesses but also severe risks in terms of security, resilience, privacy, and even safety. Proposing original methods and solutions to exploit the opportunities and not being penalized by the related issues represents the main goal of the EcoCyber project. The first work package offers models and results that may represent useful inputs to the other work packages that have to plan, implement solutions and manage legal, political and practices for cybersecurity and resilience in different contexts. In a scenario characterized by complete digital pervasiveness at inter-country, inter-company and social level, any fragmentation of the defenses is inherently fragile and can be easily circumvented by attackers.
For this reason, we will look for novel risk management approaches that are necessary to ensure the security, business continuity and safety that are essential for the future society. We will also search for original, possibly autonomous, methods of mitigations and reactions in the case of cyber attacks.
